The Rebels played their first game on 4/25 after the first two were rescheduled due to Easter Break. Even though we only had TWO practices prior to this first game, the Rebels came ready to play! I can summarize the team's play with these 3 phrases:
-Looked for and made the pass
-Stayed in their positions
-Helped each other on defense
3 goals, and about 6-7 shots on goal that hit the post! Great offense today! The scoring started out in the 1st quarter with James kicking a LOOOOOOOOOONG goal from about mid-field. He's got a very strong foot and put it to great use! No scoring by either team in the 2nd quarter - and we went into half time with a 1-0 lead.
I told the kids this was the best Karin and I have seen them play yet - passing, playing their positions and helping on defense. I told them to keep it up - and the goals would come.
Shannon added our 2nd goal with a great assist from Brandon to start the 2nd half. No more scoring by either team until the 4th quarter. Dylan knocked the 3rd and final goal in the first 5 minutes of the 4th quarter.
Despite the coaches daughter forgetting she had to play the "Back" position, the second half of the 4th quarter remained scoreless - the Rebels came away with a 3-0 victory to start the Spring 2009 season.
Great game!
