The Richfield Chargers survived a spirited Erin Rainbows comeback to prevail in a 6-5 thriller. The Chargers jumped out to an early 5-1 lead, only to watch Erin claw their way back with 4 unanswered goals. The Chargers victory was sealed with less than 2 minutes left when Valerie Meisner drilled a rocket shot past the Erin goalie for her second tally of the game.
The Chargers were led in scoring by Meisner and Caroline Basis with 2 goals apiece. The Chargers also got goals from Jordan Hottinger and Kirsten Opichka. Opichka also finished the game in goal for the Chargers, turning away numerous Erin scoring attempts. Justyce Hottinger and Taylor Brazell added strong second half defense in support of their goalie. The win brings the Chargers record to 3-0 for the Spring session.
