The Richfield Chargers overcame a sluggish start and cruised to a 5-0 victory over the Hustisford Panthers. Good passing and finishing was the order of the day as all the Richfield scorers benefited from great feeds. Breanne Rosewitz led the way with 2 goals. The first came on a good pass from Brittany Hetzel and the second on a nifty feed from Kirsten Opichka. Also getting in the scorebook were Valerie Meisner and Jordan Hottinger who scored on assists from Caroline Basis.
While the offense was getting untracked, the Chargers received stellar defensive play from Taylor Brazell and Justyce Hottinger in the first half. The pair drew numerous offsides and provided a steel defensive curtain. Later in the second half, Valerie Meisner and Kirsten Opichka completely neutralized the Panthers offense. Throughout the day the defense did note allow any serious scoring threats to materialize.
Another area of improvement was in the midfield. Midfield play continued to get better thanks to strong play by Brittany Hetzell, Mackenzie Korsi, Keelyn MacGregor and Katie Powers. Next week the Chargers travel to Slinger Heritage to take on the Slinger Storm and attempt to wrap up an undefeated season. LET'S GET FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
